Well, Wouldn't You Know It,Another Toll Road! The Florida Department of Transportation has announced plans to explore monetization opportunities, possibly leasing, of Alligator Alley. The Department received authorization through Legislation passed last year allowing for the leasing of certain Department Owned Assets, including Alligator Alley. Alligator Alley, is a 78 mile Toll Facility that goes through Southern Florida from coast to coast and connects the rapidly growing Collier and Lee Counties to the highly populated Broward and Miami-Dade Counties. It's a four lane Tolled Interstate Facility, part of Interstate 75, and part of the Florida Intrastate Highway System.

Wouldn't You Know Another Toll Road! It looks like lots more fun for you Drivers going South in Florida you better get ready to dig a little deeper into your pockets. Cause You already know, Who always pays the Most, For these Lovely Highways We have to Drive on.

Most of I 10 in Florida goes thru some of the least-populated areas in the state, much of which is tree lined. I 10 West of I 295 in Jacksonville has 4 lanes. In Pensacola, a 3 mile area of I 10 is currently being widened to 6 lanes, Which might be completed in 2008. A construction project also started in Tallahassee in 2006 to widen I 10 to 6 lanes.

In Jacksonville,Florida, As well as in Arizona, I 10 is known as "The Pearl Harbor Memorial Highway". Throughout much of Florida, Interstate 10 is also known to Locals as S.R. 8 or S.R. 8A. WATCH OUT FOR THEM GATORS NOW HEAR!
