DOT Scales on Interstate 10 are at Blythe on the West bound lanes and the other Scales are at Banning on the East & West bound lanes.
Between the West side in Santa Monica, California and the East Los Angeles Interchange, It is also known as the Santa Monica Freeway. Interstate 10 is also called the "Rosa Parks Freeway" for the segment beginning at the 405 and ending at the 1 10. The segment between the East Los Angeles Interchange and San Bernardino, California (53 miles) is known as the "San Bernardino Freeway". Other names also exist for the freeway.
Driving is considered Harsh here, Because it's One of the Toughest Places to drive a Big Rig Because of the Heavy Fines levied for violations by 18 Wheel Drivers. A stretch of highway in Palm Springs, Is signed as the "Sonny Bono Memorial Freeway" As a tribute to the late entertainer who served both as Mayor and as a United States Congressman. A second stretch of highway, A short distance east in Indio is signed as the "Dr June McCarroll Memorial Freeway". STAY COOL & ALERT DRIVERS!
